Erongo drilling extends the Otjiwa copper corridor to 2.4 kilometres of strike

Eleven of nineteen holes intersected copper mineralisation, including 28 metres at 1.32% copper from 184 metres. Eight holes did not.

Erongo Region, Namibia ·

Quintel has completed the first phase of its 2026 drilling programme at the Erongo copper project in Namibia. Nineteen diamond holes for 6,840 metres were drilled along the Otjiwa corridor, which is now traced over 2.4 kilometres of strike and remains open to the north-west and south-east.

Eleven holes intersected copper mineralisation on the interpreted redox boundary. Eight did not, of which five ended in the target stratigraphy without mineralisation and three failed to reach the target horizon due to ground conditions and will be re-drilled.

Significant intercepts

Reported at a 0.3% Cu cut-off with no more than 3 m internal dilution. Downhole widths; true widths estimated at 78 – 92% of downhole width.

A full table of all nineteen holes, including the eight holes with no significant intercept and all assay intervals, is available in the technical appendix on the reports page.

The programme is testing a sediment-hosted stratiform copper model in the Damara Supergroup beneath 40 to 120 metres of Kalahari sand cover. Cumulative drilling on the licences now stands at 40,840 metres.

“The corridor is real and it is continuous, which is more than most greenfield programmes can say at this stage,” said Dr Ana Fontes, Chief Technical Officer. “It is also, so far, a moderate-grade intersection on a wide-spaced grid, and there is a long distance between that and a mine. We will drill it out and publish whatever the drill tells us.”

A further 14,000 metres is planned for the second half of 2026. A maiden mineral resource estimate remains targeted for 2027, subject to drill density and grade continuity supporting one.
